Course description:
This course (that consists of twelve levels) targets adults aiming to gain proficiency in Arabic as their second language. It focuses on developing fundamental language skills—reading, writing, listening, and speaking using structured lessons designed to meet practical communication needs. Besides language proficiency, the course explores cultural aspects of Arabic-speaking societies, providing insights into their customs and traditions. By completion, participants will have a strong grasp of Arabic grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, enabling them to confidently engage in conversations and understand straightforward texts.
Course objectives:
Language Proficiency and Cultural Understanding: Introduce adults to Arabic language and culture through immersive methods. Foster fluency, accuracy, and a genuine interest in Arabic language and culture. Develop a passion for Arabic by discussing contemporary global issues. Skill Development: Develop a practical vocabulary essential for everyday activities, professional settings, and social interactions. Improve listening skills through a variety of audio resources and exercises. Enhance reading abilities through tailored texts suited to individual proficiency levels. Practice writing to construct correct sentences and coherent paragraphs.
Teaching Methods:
The course integrates various methodologies like communicative approaches, encouraging active participation and interaction among students. Lessons include a blend of instructor-led activities, roles play, group discussions, multimedia resources, and language drills (pronunciation drills, translation drills, grammar drills etc.) to reinforce learning. Moreover, authentic materials such as interactive exercises, audio clips, and videos are used to expose learners to real-life language usage and cultural contexts.
Assessment and Feedback:
We evaluate progress through frequent quizzes, assignments, and oral presentations. Feedback is given to support students in enhancing their language skills, with self-assessment and peer review opportunities integrated into the learning journey to promote continuous improvement.
Prerequisites:
No prior knowledge of Arabic is necessary, yet students are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and regularly practicing the language outside of class.
Course Duration:
The course is structured to be completed over twelve months to eighteen months , with 3 to 6 hours of instruction per week.
Certification:
Upon finishing the course successfully, participants will be awarded a certificate of
achievement that demonstrates their proficiency level in Arabic.
